Those who love coffee, and rely on the dirty-bean juice to get them stoked in the AM, as Jeff Spicoli would probably say, might need to double-check the label of their coffee grounds following a newly issued recall.

Last week, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Class II recall on a specific brand of coffee grounds. This impacts 15 states, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin included. Don't worry. This isn't a life-threatening recall. This isn't even a truly dangerous recall. It's honestly one of the funnier recalls I've seen.

In fact, the recall was issue due to a mislabeling issue. Nope, it wasn't an undisclosed allergen. It wasn't a misrepresentation of ingredients. The coffee under recall was incorrectly labeled as decaffeinate, when it is in fact not. Somewhere, somebody has had the eureka moment as to why the coffee they've been drinking has made them wired and twitchy recently.

The FDA issued a Class II recall on Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA. A Class II recall denotes the product may "cause temporary or medically reversible" health consequences, though the chances of an individual becoming seriously harmed or ill is very minimal.

Unrelated to the Coca-Cola recall, but earlier in March, Nestlé USA issued a recall of Lean Cuisine and Stouffer's frozen meals due to the potential for a wood-like material/substance present in the meals. You can read more about that recall here.
