How Duck Duck Drive in Dubuque Made My Car-Buying Process a Breeze
In March, my 2010 Honda Accord finally bit the dust after 16 long, loyal years. It was the only car I ever drove, gifted to me from my parents when I needed a car to commute to college. It was also a lesson in responsibility, for from the moment I began driving it, I was responsible for gas, insurance, maintenance, etc. I think I did right by it.
It's silly to get sentimental about vehicles, and it's even harder to view the situation through the rose-colored glasses when you suddenly have to game-plan and budget for a new one. As frustrated and as anxious as I was, I only wanted to talk to one person, who runs a local used car dealership/maintenance shop right here in Dubuque: Curtis Knapp, owner and operator of Duck Duck Drive on Jackson Street in Dubuque.

Duck Duck Drive Simplifies the Car-Buying Experience:
I've known Curtis for a couple years through the radio station, and have heard from him personally, and through Duck Duck Drive's colorful Facebook page, about how many people he's gotten in cars, regardless of credit or circumstances.
If you drive by Duck Duck Drive, located at 2990 Jackson Street in Dubuque, you'll see a plethora of cars on their lot. This is not the extent of their inventory access. I approached Curtis with another Honda Accord in mind. We sat down, and he showed me his process: sifting through different car auctions looking for the perfect car at the right price.
Curtis asked what was important for me to have in a vehicle. Reliability is key. At the end of the day, I want a four-door sedan that is reliable, easy to drive, comfortable, and within my budget. Curtis recommended Toyota, specifically Camrys, as they are not only comparable to an Accord, but they come a little bit cheaper on the used market.
He tracked down a beautiful white 2017 Toyota Camry. I fell in love with it during my test drive. A deal was made.
How Duck Duck Drive is Different from Other Dealerships:

Several aspects of Curtis' business set Duck Duck Drive apart from other car dealers in the area. Here are just a few:
- They're a small business that likes to have fun, and everything from the name to the décor around the shop/office reflects that.
- Curtis prides himself on helping first-time buyers get into a ride they want as opposed to a ride they felt like they were sold.
- Curtis has a personal commitment to getting people financed, regardless of bad, low, or middling credit.
- Curtis has extensive experience in the car-world. He's helped countless individuals and consulted them throughout the purchase-process.
The warmth and hospitality afforded by Curtis and his team cannot be understated. Having spent time in his office, the morale amongst his employees is high. They crack jokes, banter, and bond like a family. It makes the process all the more amiable, and I love doing business with places like these.
