Wendy Scardino stopped by the Y105 studio for a visit this morning (10/27) to chat about a few upcoming events at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.

Mom and Dad are probably due for a break from this stressful year so the museum will be hosting "Witchfest" this Thursday night from 6 to 9pm!

The entire campus will be open to anyone aged 21 or older for live music from Josh Yeltman. Food will be available for purchase from Adobos and the Town Clock Inn.

You'll also be able to see the exhibits like the sea otters, alligator and stingrays. Even their gift shop will be open if you want to get a jump on your holiday shopping.

The campus is huge, so there's no need to worry about social distancing. You can stay as far away from people as you like and still enjoy yourself.

Admission will be $10 per person.

One of the other cool things they're now doing at the River Museum is 'Behind the Scenes Aquarium Tours.' Available Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, the museum is now offering a VIP look behind the scenes for groups of up to four people. There are opportunities to feed some of the animals, too. (What a cool idea for Grandma and Grandpa to surprise their grandkids with!)

One other thing you may want to check out is the "Captain's Ball: Night at the Museum" fundraiser on Friday night, November 6th. It is a virtual fundraiser showing a behind the scenes look at the River Museum and a chance for you to help support the animals and programs at the museum.

(With Covid-19, the River Museum had to shut down for a full ten weeks. The admission tickets sold throughout the year help support the animals who don't get to take a day off!)

Lastly, starting November 1st, the River Museum will feature 20% off their memberships, so if you're looking for a cool investment for the family that you can use all year... you should definitely check it out!

For more information on these events and more... you can always check out the River Museum WEBSITE or FACEBOOK PAGE.
