Popular Galena Business Announces Two Major Developments

Anyone who has walked the bustling streets of Galena a time-or-two in their lives has likely been lured into one or both of Galena Canning Company's large storefronts on Main Street. The business presently has two shops, one offering sauces and other spicy products, and another offering sweet and savory jams and jellies.

To start 2025, Galena Canning Company took to Facebook to announce two major developments will be happening. Fear not, they are not going away and no recipes are changing. However, things are only getting bigger for a staple business on Galena's Main Street.

On Facebook last week, the Galena Canning Company announced that, after 18 years of production, they'll be taking the next step to "meet [their] customer and wholesale demand." Coming very soon is a new commercial kitchen and warehouse facility for the company, which will be located in Potosi, WI.

Let it be known: the Galena Canning Company is not moving. In fact, your shopping experience will get even easier. With the imminent opening of their new kitchen, their current prep/cooking space at 106 South Main Street will no longer be necessary. On their Facebook post, they confirmed that they will be consolidating both retail spaces at 106 South Main Street and 107 South Main Street into one.

So, in short, very soon there will be one Galena Canning Company in town, at 107 South Main Street. For years, customers have learned that one of the company's buildings housed hot sauces and spicy consumables while the other offered jams, jellies, and a variety of cooking oils. Galena Canning Company noted that this move to consolidate both businesses into one will lead to less confusion for shoppers.

The company's online sales will also soon be handled differently than before:

With the move of our warehouse & production to Potosi, Wisconsin the E-commerce and Online Sales will now be fulfilled in the store at 107 S Main St, Galena IL.

We are also expanding to offer a “Business Center”. Where customers will have the ability to get Custom Made Baskets, Crates, Gift Bags and more! As well as we will be able to expand on our Corporate Gift, Fundraiser, Wedding/Shower/Group Gift Programs - per Galena Canning Company's Facebook page

Galena Canning Company added that this move also opens up 106 South Main Street as "prime commercial space for another concept to take shape" on the city's beautiful Main Street.

As a huge fan of Galena Canning's sauces, both spicy and savory, this is wonderful news. There's nothing better than seeing a local business thrive. If you're a hot sauce fan, and you want my personal recommendation, my go-to has always been Hell's Habanero.
