Happy Veterans Day!

Today we celebrate Veterans Day, the day we honor military veterans...  those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Most of us know someone who serves or has served.  Over the last few years that number has increased for me as my nephews Brandon and Alec have both enlisted in the Armed Services.

Brandon enlisted in the United States Air Force and just left his post in Arizona to serve overseas.

Alec is a proud member of our United States Marines and currently lives with his wife, Kate, in California.

I'm so proud of them both!  I'm thankful for their service and to all who have served or serve today.  God bless you.

With that said, I've seen a number of people offering great deals for vets in our community and I thought I would share them with you.

Hy-Vee will host its annual Veterans Day breakfasts with a complimentary meal for veterans and active-duty military members in recognition and thanks for their service.

Perkins Restaurant and Bakery is offering veterans a free Magnificent Seven meal.

Kwik Stop will give vets a free hot dog meal, with a hot dog, chips and a 32 ounce fountain pop.

Dairy Queen has a free medium blizzard.

Fazoli's on 16th Street will let vets build their own pasta bowl with free breadsticks.

Make sure you bring your military I.D. and get ready to feed your face today... you deserve it!
