“Aquaman” & “Fast and Furious” Star is Returning to Iowa This Month

One of the biggest movie stars working today, with deep roots in Iowa to boot, will be returning to the Hawkeye State this month to promote his new product. It's one of two beverages looking to capture the market.

Jason Momoa, famous for his role as Aquaman in the DC Cinematic Universe, will be returning to his hometown Fareway store as well as a nearby Hy-Vee grocery store to promote and sign bottles of his new Meili Vodka.

Momoa will be at the Fareway in Norwalk, IA (1711 Sunset Drive) from 9am to 11:30am on Monday, October 16th to sign bottles of his new premium liquor. Meili Vodka was handcrafted in Bozeman, MT with Momoa's friend, Blaine Halvorson, who is the creator of MadeWorn and Junk Food Clothing.

From there, Momoa will head to the Hy-Vee in Urbandale, IA (about 20 minutes away at 8701 Douglas Avenue) from 1:30pm to 3:30pm to do the same. These dual-appearances at Iowa grocery stores will make the first time the Fast X star has been in the state since late March 2022, prior to the Academy Awards. Momoa dined at the Waveland Cafe, shopped at West End Architectural Salvage in downtown Des Moines, and ate at Tasty Tacos, per The Des Moines Register.

Jason Momoa has entered his mogul stage as a celebrity, now becoming the driving force behind several products. In addition to Meili Vodka, Momoa also has a new line of purified waters on the market. Mananalu Water comes in four different flavors (Pure, Tahitian Lime, Lilikoi Passion, and Pink Grapefruit), and comes in a "resealable and infinitely recyclable aluminum bottle [that] is filled with hydrating, delicious, purified water."

I write this article as I sip a bottle of the Tahitian Lime variant, and let me tell you, this is one of the best new beverages I've tried in some time. I ordered three cases of the water and am drinking two or three a day. It's crisp and refreshing. Would Momoa's new brand of vodka be a good chaser for it? I'll have to find out at a later date.
