Leinenkugel's has always held a special place in my heart. I've been fortune enough to meet brothers Dick, Jake, and John Leinenkugel on multiple difference occasions. I have more hats, glassware, and shirts from Leinenkugel than I care to admit, and took a trip with my best friend to the brewery's headquarters in Chippewa Falls, WI back in 2022.

So, when I read this, my eyes immediately widened. Leinenkugel's most popular beverage is now the basis for a new line of ice cream sandwiches from a New York-based company that specializes in beer-infused ice cream. This ice cream actually contains alcohol, which also means it's only for consumers 21-years-or-older.

Leinenkugel's and Tipsy Scoop have teamed up to launch "Summer Shandwiches," which is billed as "a Midwestern take on an ice cream sandwich infused with Summer Shandy," per Tipsy Scoop's website. Summer Shandy is the company's most popular beer by a mile, and has been a summertime staple for well over a decade.

These "Shandwiches" are made with Summer Shandy frozen custard, which means they have the lemonade flavor profile of Summer Shandy, as well as cheese fudge swirls, brandied cherries, and a Kringle-crust texture as an homage to the Racine-based delicacies, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's website. Sidebar: I can't recommend O&H Danish Bakery enough when it comes to delicious Kringles.

If that isn't enough, the sandwiches can contain up to 4.2% ABV, which makes them even sweeter in the eyes of Leinie fans.

As a result, however, you must be at least 21-years-old to purchase Summer Shandwiches. Sadly too, they are exclusively available on Tipsy Scoop's website via "daily drops" for a limited time. A six pack of these Shandwiches is $49.99, which comes out to about $8.33/sandwich. I suppose if you bought them at an ice cream shop, they wouldn't be much more expensive.

You can purchase Summer Shandwiches and find out more about them on Tipsy Scoop's website. Also, take a look at some photos of Leinenkugel's Leinie Lodge below!
