The Dubuque Police Department have released a statement regarding a deceased man found underneath the Julien Dubuque Bridge.

On March 21st, 2024, at approximately 10:46am, Dubuque Police officers responded to an undisclosed location underneath the Julien Dubuque Bridge in regards to a call about a deceased subject.

The subject was identified as Robert Lee Schreiner, 71, of Dubuque.

In the news release, Dubuque Police Officers stated that an autopsy will be performed by the Iowa State Medical Examiners Office.

No foul play is suspected, and the location the subject was found is unclear at this time.

The Julien Dubuque Bridge is a bridge over the Mississippi River that connects Dubuque, IA to East Dubuque, IL. The bridge is part of U.S. Route 20, locally known as "Highway 20," and spans 5,760 feet while being 28 feet wide.
