Another recall due to a vicious listeria outbreak is affecting over 10 million pounds of meat that are found in products in some of the most popular grocery stores in America.

It all traces back to BrucePac, a pre-cooked meat producer, and details are becoming more clear about the extent of this recall, which was first announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) last week. BrucePac's ready-to-eat poultry was found to have evidence of listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious infection if consumed.

Initially, the warning released by the USDA and BrucePac suggested that approximately 9.9 million pounds of meat and poultry were subjected to recall, with specific products released later. Moreover, affected products were shipped to establishments all across the country, including in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. These establishments are distributors, restaurants, grocery stores, and other food houses.

Affected products include salads, frozen meals, and various pre-packaged foods. The USDA is continuing to update the list of products as the information becomes available. You can view a full list of affected products at FSIS.gov.
