I remember meeting Arsh back in 2019. His mother, Divya, had messaged me to ask about the possibility of me interviewing her son during our "Community Corner" for a fundraiser he was doing.

Arsh has been working on his art for quite some time, and in his short 11 years has gotten quite good at it. He works with acrylics and as a mixed media artist, selling his paintings to raise money for different charities.

"Sure," you say... "he probably gets a couple of bucks for each of his pieces, right?"

I can't give you specifics, but so far Arsh has raised and donated over $15,000 to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Make-A-Wish, Easterseals, and others.

During our interview, I told Arsh I'd like to commission him to create a nice portrait of me that I could frame and eventually leave for my family to remember me by. I even offered to pay him for it.

I feel like at the time Arsh and his mom had told me he had a number of projects he was working on, but he'd circle back and get it done for me.

I'm guessing during the pandemic Arsh had a lot of time to work on his craft, as his mom reached out to me a few months ago to let me know he had finished my portrait.

To be honest, I was a little afraid to see what his interpretation of me was, but I'd say the guy got it spot-on! Take a look!
