It’s been a minute since we last heard anything new about Shane Black’s upcoming Predator sequel, but today’s exciting update was easily worth the wait. Trevante Rhodes, star of the critically acclaimed awards season favorite Moonlight, is gearing up to hunt down everyone’s favorite alien warrior, as the actor has signed on to star opposite NarcosBoyd Holbrook and Olivia Munn in the sequel, simply titled The Predator.

THR reports on Rhodes’ casting in The Predator, which Black is set to direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad). There is one curious bit in that report, though: THR is still insisting that the sequel takes place in the suburbs, backing up their original report from last November — which was immediately denied by Black himself.

In any case, Rhodes and Holbrook are said to be playing ex-Marines in The Predator, which revisits the iconic alien from the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Black had a small supporting role in the classic sci-fi action flick, for which he also provided uncredited script rewrites. The sequel will reportedly begin filming this winter for a 2018 release.

Rhodes also recently signed on to star opposite Chris Hemsworth and Michael Peña in Horse Soldiers; his other upcoming roles include Terrence Malick’s Song to Song (formerly titled Weightless) and fraternity drama Burning Sands with Alfre Woodard.
