Rock This Weekend With The Midwest Freeriders At Olliewood Action Sports
Everyone is looking to get out as we come out of the pandemic. Olliewood Action Sports is hosting a big FREE party this Saturday with the Midwest Freeriders from 2 to 9pm!
Casey from Olliewood stopped by the studio to tell us more about it. He brought Jake and Ronnie with him to talk about the music.
Olliewood Action Sports is a unique street course for the community with a focus on safety. Their ramps and features are built with proper edges and framing to reduce injury. Bikes, skateboards, scooters, and rollerblades are all welcome.
Saturday at 2pm they're hosting a party with food, competitions, cash giveaways, games and live music! Midwest Freeriders will be glad to tell you more about their ski and snowboard program.
Competitions will start around 2pm and the live music starts at 5pm. There will be a high ollie contest and best trick contest for both skaters and BMX riders.
For music, they'll welcome the bands Riff Worm, High Five Sinners and Silent IRE.
Jake is the singer for Silent IRE and pulls double duty as the lead guitarist and singer for High Five Sinners.
He says the High Five Sinners sound can start like a 1950s Doo-Wop and quickly transition to a heavy metal song. Their group has a lot of influences.
Silent IRE is a hard rock/metal sounding band. Ronnie says they're a lot of fun but won't be playing anything that will scare older folks or young children away.
Again, it's free and all ages are welcome. If you have a kid that's into skating or biking you can bring them by to introduce them to the facility. Olliewood Action Sports is located at 3125 Cedar Crest Ridge in Dubuque.
