Seeing Your Job Through Someone Else’s Eyes

My buddy Aaron called to tell my his girlfriend's 7-year-old son, Jace, wants my autograph.

Stuff like that always embarrasses me. I don't think of myself as a celebrity but when you're on TV or the radio, kids can't really differentiate between a local celebrity and a major star!

Yes, you heard me right... to most 5 to 10 year old kids I'm as famous as Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves! Ok, probably a bad example... more like Henry Danger or Spongebob Squarepants!

Joking aside... Jace and Addisyn stopped by the studio today with their family to pick something up. (They were all wearing masks upon entering and we stayed socially distanced!)

I gave them the nickel tour of the studio and even chatted with them on the air. I showed them all the buttons and machines.

Seeing their excitement and curiosity reminded me what a fun job I have and why I got into radio in the first place.

Yes, Jace got his autograph, but I got a great reminder of how lucky I am to do what I do.
