Smoothie King on Dodge Street Has Grand Opening Specials

There's a new place in town to get a variety of tasty beverages, such as smoothies, shakes, and more!

Smoothie King has landed in Dubuque. Located at 3500 Dodge Street #130, right next to Target, the new spot is serving up delicious blends, both rich and fruity. Some offer protein boosts strong enough to complement a workout regime. Others offer a fruit-filled escape. Some even fit right in with the Keto diet.

Spend some time surfing the menu and you'll almost certainly find a blend that will suit your tastes.

Allie and Emma of Smoothie King were kind enough to drop by in studio to talk about several grand opening specials that will be held at the restaurant throughout this week.

"On Thursday, we'll be doing 12 ounce Angel Food smoothies for free, in store only. Then on Friday, it's our normal dollar upgrade," Allie said.

Y105 will be broadcasting live at Smoothie King on Saturday from 11am to 1pm. Between then and Sunday, the weekend is when some of the biggest giveaways and promotions will go down.

"We're [giving away] a kayak, some beanbag boards, a [man's and woman's] workout basket, and a Mother's Day basket," Emma added.

Allie and Emma also mentioned their go-to smoothies. Allie's choice is the Coffee High Protein Almond Mocha. Emma opts for the Peanut Butter Plus Strawberry smoothie.

Smoothie King was founded all the way back in 1973 with the original location operating in Louisiana. In 2012, Wan Kim, a South Korean franchisee, purchased the company with intent to expand. Now, Smoothie King boasts more than 1,000 locations, including right here in Dubuque!
