Spirit Christmas to Open Three Illinois Stores: What to Expect

Spirit Halloween's holly, jolly sister store is planning a serious expansion this holiday season, and Illinois is on the list not only to get one, but three of the stores. The Halloween decorations haven't even been discounted yet and the Christmas beast is creeping in on the culture.

Spirit Christmas, the new seasonal retailer from Spirit Halloween Superstores, LLC, will soon be coming to 13 states in the country, taking over retail spaces formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond and recently shuttered Rite Aid, JoAnn Fabrics, and Party City locations. The store concept was piloted last year and is set to expand for the 2025 holiday season.

What Does a Spirit Christmas Look Like?:

Per WGN, Spirit Christmas stores boast "thousands of stocking stuffers, holiday apparel, fun gifts, unique décor, inflatables, plus all the special trimmings for creating an unforgettable Christmas." Checking out some videos on YouTube too, they even have things like fake snow and holiday candy as well.

Many locations will also offer families the ability to meet Santa Claus, starting on November 21st.

Many Spirit Christmas stores will wind up being occupied by retail spaces currently used for Spirit Halloween shops. The latter closes up shop on November 1st, and then those respective stores will schlep out all the Halloween décor in favor of yuletide offerings.
