Tacoma FD has been a runaway success for truTV after three seasons and 36 episodes. Fans of the show got great news last month when it was revealed the sitcom's fourth season finally had its premiere date set for July 20th, 2023. The program is the brainchild of Steve Lemme and Kevin Heffernan, two of the five members of the long-running comedy troupe Broken Lizard.

Broken Lizard is famous for a litany of comedies, such as Super Troopers (and its sequel), Beerfest, and, most recently, Quasi, released on Hulu back in April. Lemme and Heffernan were kind enough to call in and talk with me about the fourth season of Tacoma FD, the show's sustained success, and even spilled some tea on Super Troopers 3!

Lemme and Heffernan also spoke about their experiences making Quasi, a Monty Python-esque comedy set in medieval times. The film is a comedic take on The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and is available to stream on Hulu. Beyond work under the Broken Lizard banner, the two comics also spoke about some other projects of which they're the most proud.

It was such a fun time and a real privilege to talk with two dudes who part of a comedy troupe I've loved since I was way too young to be watching their movies. Of their works, my favorite of their films has to be Club Dread, a horror-comedy set on an island resort with Bill Paxton playing a rag-tag Jimmy Buffett-lite singer named Coconut Pete.

Take a listen to my interview with Steve Lemme and Kevin Heffernan below, and tune into the season four premiere of Tacoma FD on truTV later this month!
