After having experienced a treacherous heat wave less than a week ago, with another coming up this weekend, I suspect few people are truly thinking about snowfall and all things winter-related at this point in time.

However, Mark Gordon of Sundown Mountain wants to alter your perspective a bit. He wants you to start thinking about skiing. With a few days left to take advantage of Sundown Mountain's tremendous August sale on season passes, it's a good time to plan ahead, especially if you are anticipating hitting the slopes several times this upcoming season.

Mark of Sundown stopped by the studio this week to talk about how people still have a couple days left to take advantage of their August sale on season passes:

We try to get a sale going in the summer to get you a little bit better deal on a season pass [....] Maybe get one for your kid, if you got somebody who is gonna be a little bored this winter. They'll get a pass with their picture on it [....] We've got a full season pass, you can come anytime, and we have our Weekend Warrior pass. [With that pass], you can do any Saturday or Sunday we're open.

Below are the prices for the passes, but be mindful, these deals are only active through August 31st, 2023:

  • Weekday Warrior Pass, ski/snowboard Monday-Friday: $210
  • Weekend Warrior Pass, ski/snowboard every Saturday & Sunday: $225
  • Full Season Pass, ski/snowboard anytime Sundown is open: $395

You can purchase one or more of those passes exclusively on Sundown Mountain's website.

Mark also touched on how him and his staff are readying themselves for what's sure to be another busy season at Sundown Mountain once the weather starts cooling:

We're getting excited. Pretty soon, its' gonna start getting colder, and that's when we get the snow guns dusted off. We have a neat little new area for our terrain park, by the way, that we're going to open up to allow our terrain park to expand this year. We filled in the old half-pipe, and we're going to use that for more things for our kids to play around on.
