A New Indian Restaurant is Coming to Dubuque
One of the most underserved culinary facets in the Tri-States is Indian food. That's something one chain restaurant looks to change after recently revealed they will be opening an eatery in Dubuque after finding success with their food truck.
If you commute around the Dubuque area, you might've noticed a colorful, light blue food truck at places like Theisen's and Hobby Lobby. The truck is that of Swagat Indian Restaurant, based in Wisconsin. Swagat announced they are readying a full expansion into Dubuque via a brick and mortar eatery.
Swagat prides themselves on "authentic Indian food from various regions of India," with locations in Sun Prairie and West Madison, WI, respectively. Their menu boasts a plethora of offerings, including noodle-dishes, soups, salads, rice, rolls, and many different entrees. Some of their entrees include chicken, others include lamb, and there are even some with salmon, fish, and shrimp.
Swagat announced via Facebook that they'll be opening up a restaurant in Dubuque very soon. Details are slim at the time, but the announcement has already got people buzzing on social media:
Swagat Indian Cuisine is opening a new location in Dubuque, IA! We're thrilled to bring authentic Indian flavors to the Heartland! Stay tuned for updates on our opening date, menu, and special offers! - per Swagat Indian Restaurant's Facebook post
While food options both chain and local are plentiful in Dubuque and the Tri-States, Swagat undoubtedly fills a void in the area. The Dubuque market has long been underserved when it comes to a place to get quality Indian food. Not only does Swagat look delicious and appear to have a variety of options, it's also proven to be adored by many in the area.
I went over to r/Dubuque on Reddit to see what, if anything, people were saying about Swagat. I found a whole thread where people were sharing thoughts on the food, and there were plenty of rave reviews:
