
Frozen Tater Tot Recall Impacts Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin
Thousands of cases of frozen tater tots are being recalled following concerns they may contain pieces of hard plastic, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
One of the brands involved in this recall, which impacts more than 38,000 cases of frozen potatoes, is among the most popular brands of its kind. The overarching recall falls on McCain Foods USA Inc, per the FDA.

Details on the Frozen Tater Tot Recall:
The recall began in December 2025. One of the recalled items is Ore-Ida Tater Tots, which is packaged in large, clear plastic bags with the following the item number and UPC: OIF00215A and UPC 1 00 72714 00215 8. About 21,256 cases of Ore-Idea Tater Tots are impacted.
The other recall involves 17,597 cases of Sysco Imperial Potato Tater Barrels, which are distributed by Sysco Corporation, with item number 1000006067 and UPC 1 07 34730 62740 0.
