Saturday afternoon my wife and I had the pleasure of taking my two nieces and my sister to a pumpkin patch outside of my hometown in Minnesota. This was a new experience for me as I've never taken little kids to an apple orchard/pumpkin patch. This inexperience led to a HUGE mistake: encouraging my older niece, Hannah, to pick out my pumpkin BEFORE walking around and checking out the attractions.

I'm sure there were a few adults who looked at me toting around a pumpkin for 20-30 minutes and chuckled at my rookie mistake. Lesson learned. Next time, I will make sure to make the pumpkin selection the very last part of the experience. It was a great time and I look forward to taking my nieces (and my daughter who we're expecting to be born in early 2015) to the pumpkin patch next fall.

If you have a favorite pumpkin patch here in the Tri-States, feel free to email me your suggestion at jeff.robb@townsquaremedia.com.
