Ghosts and Goblins Flood the Dubuque County Fairgrounds for Trunk or Treat
The 2023 Dubuque County Fairgrounds' "Trunk or Treat" was another success, with hundreds of kids and parents alike showing up, dressed in their Halloween best, and going table-to-table for candy and other treats.
Y105, Eagle 102.3, and 103.3 WJOD were in attendance handing out candy, snap bracelets, and tattoos to ghosts and goblins from 5:30pm - 7pm. Those who braved the frigid temperatures (make no mistake: it was cold) were rewarded with a bounty of candy!
Me and my girlfriend, Catherine, dressed up as Beth and Rip from Yellowstone. My girlfriend got a lot of second looks thanks to her exceptional makeup job on her bruises. Meanwhile, I look the part of a cowboy, but don't ask me to do cowboy things.
Trunk or Treat provides kids a fun opportunity to socialize, show of their costumes, and of course score an unreal amount of candy! "Trunkers" dress up in their costumes and decorate their vehicles while serving candy to kids. Admission is only $1, regardless of child or adult.
In addition to all the fun, there were also several awards that could earn you and your kiddies bragging rights too!
- "Spooktacular Set Up" for best decorated trunk
- "Creepy Collective" for best group costume
- "Monstrously Marvelous" for best single costume
- "Candy Cauldron of Excellence" for best treats
