Don’t Miss the Dubuque County Fairgrounds’ “Trunk or Treat”

Spooky season is officially upon us, and is the case every year, the Dubuque County Fairgrounds is hosting their annual Halloween trick-or-treating event just in time for the big day!

The Dubuque County Fairgrounds' annual "Trunk or Treat" event will be happening Thursday, October 26th from 5:30pm - 7pm. The event attracts over 800 kids and parents alike, all of whom dressed in their Halloween costumes!

Trunk or Treat provides kids a fun opportunity to socialize, show of their costumes, and of course score an unreal amount of candy! "Trunkers" dress up in their costumes and decorate their vehicles while serving candy to kids. Admission is only $1, regardless of child or adult.

If you're interested in being a "Trunker," and pass out candy to 800+ kids and their parents, you can get signed up a couple of different ways:

There are also several awards that could earn you and your kiddies bragging rights too!

• "Spooktacular Set Up" for best decorated trunk
• "Creepy Collective" for best group costume
• "Monstrously Marvelous" for best single costume
• "Candy Cauldron of Excellence" for best treats

I've lived in an apartment for the last several years. As a result, the experience of handing out candy to kids has been all but lost for me for sometime. That changed last night as 500+ kids ventured out to the Fairgrounds to fill their buckets, grocery bags, or pillow cases with enough candy for an army. We had an assortment of Tootsie Rolls, Tootsie pops, Fruit Chews, and more!
