What’s New At The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium
Last Friday we got a chance to catch up with Wendy Scardino, Director of Marketing & Communications at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium.
One of the reasons I love stopping down from time-to-time is the fact that the exhibits change so I always get to see new things.
Wendy popped by to give us the heads up on some stuff that's coming soon you may want to check out.
Before we got into our conversation, I told her about my visit a few weeks prior and our stop inside at the River of Innovation Exhibit. I told her about my son and nephew playing on the Water Table. There is a constant flow of water on the table and special blue and yellow plastic tabs allow you to stop it, teaching you all about controlling the flow of water. The boys played on this for over an hour!
Wendy mentioned the Splash & Bubbles exhibit is still available to check out through September 19th, before they make way for another great attraction.
Early Explorer programs are starting soon for kids aged 2 to 5 years old. Programs are held the first Tuesday and Saturday of the month starting in September.
Moms and dads might want to also keep in mind the River Museum features 'School's Out Day Camps' for kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade any day the Dubuque Community Schools aren't in session.
Also, if you find yourself looking for something to do over the long Labor Day weekend, they will be open from 9am to 5pm.
