
Recall Issued for Pizzas Sold in Iowa Quad Cities
A brand of frozen pizza sold in Davenport and Bettendorf, as well as in Illinois and Minnesota, is being recalled following a statement by the Iowa Department of Agriculture.
The source of the frozen pizzas is Vitale's in Clinton. Located on Camanche Ave in Clinton, Vitale's is a beloved local eatery known for their stuffed pizzas, assortment of pies, and pasta dishes as well. They also have frozen pizzas customers can purchase.

Where Vitale's Frozen Pizzas are Sold:
The affected pizzas were sold in Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota in the following cities, per KWQC:
- Davenport, Iowa
- Bettendorf, Iowa
- DeWitt, Iowa
- Fulton, Iowa
- Chadwick, Illinois
- Winona, Minnesota
The pizzas themselves have a red, green, and white background with "Vitales" emblazoned on the packaging.

Why are the Frozen Pizzas Being Recalled?:
According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture, Vitale's Frozen Pizzas are being recalled because of a lack of USDA or state marks of inspection on their "meat-topped" pizzas. Furthermore, the facility making the pizzas lacks a federal or state grant of inspection as well.

At this time, there have been no confirmed reports of illness due to the consumption of Vitale's Frozen Pizzas. The Iowa Department of Agriculture recommends those who have purchased these products simply discard them, or contact Vitale's at 563-242-6140 or 563-242-6141 for more information.
