A grocery store in Dyersville has completed its transformation into a fully stocked, operational Hy-Vee store after several months of work, on top of years of customer desire.

Per Telegraph Herald, Dyersville's Dollar Fresh Market is now a Hy-Vee location. Make no mistake: Dollar Fresh Market is a spinoff variation of Hy-Vee. They are smaller stores that cater to cities with populations in the four-figures. While still focused on fresh options, they are more of a "budget" alternative to Hy-Vee.

Now, Dyersville's Dollar Fresh Market is now a fully function Hy-Vee. Still located at 1201 12th Avenue SE, the upgrade has been something people in the community have been asking for since Dollar Fresh Market opened in the summer 2020, per store manager Brett Gates, who spoke to the Telegraph Herald.

Three Hy-Vee stores existing in Dubuque, one in the east, west, and central side of the city, respectively, made the decision more workable in the eyes of Hy-Vee corporate:

There’s already a Hy-Vee culture within the area. We’re not here without customers, and a big part of it is having Hy-Vee customers in the area already [....] We’re really excited to be able to give the community … essentially a new store. We added so many items that it’s not the same store anymore - Dyersville Hy-Vee's Store Manager Brett Gates, per Telegraph Herald

Now, the Dyersville Hy-Vee is stocked with new departments and options for consumers. The Dollar Fresh Market did not have a section for wine and spirits nor a meat department. Now it does. In addition, there are an assortment of international and specialty cheeses, a health market section, and an influx of fresh options, per Telegraph Herald.

The transition was officially completed on Monday, December 15th, concluding a six-week process, finally celebrated with a ribbon-cutting the following day. Read more about the big changes to the Hy-Vee in Dyersville on the Telegraph Herald's website.
