When it comes to supporting local non-profits, there might not be an easier and more impactful program than Kwik Care.

If you're not aware, Kwik Care has helped raise both funds and awareness for local nonprofits. Each month, Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen help collect donations for a different organization. Donations can be made easily by requesting your total purchase at any of those businesses (including at the gas pumps at Kwik Stop) be rounded up to the nearest dollar. The additional cents used to round up will be donated to the respective charity of the month.

April's Kwik Care recipient is She Unites in Dubuque, a nonprofit organization "uniting women from across the Midwest to build a stronger community through engagement, genuine conversation, and companionship and supporting causes that matter," per their website.

Natalie and Adele of She Unites stopped by the studio, along with Heather Hamm of Kwik Stop, to talk about their partnership for the month as well as what She Unites does to form connections amongst women in the Tri-States:

We offer mostly free, some paid, programming for any and all women in the area. It doesn't matter what your occupation, age, or phase of life is, you're welcome to any sort of She Unites programming. Every third Wednesday, we have some sort of programming happening, usually it's education-based at 7 Hills Event Center. We welcome in speakers. A lot from the region, some from out of the area, but it's all education for women by women in a very organic, natural setting.

Natalie and Adele also expanded She Unites in the form of podcasting. Their new podcast, titled And We Go On, is a way for those same speakers both women bring in to be afforded an additional, long-form platform to discuss the issues they spoke about at She Unites meetings.

All month long, Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen will be taking donations that will go directly to She Unites via the aforementioned Kwik Care canisters at the counter or if customers request their purchase-total be rounded up to the nearest dollar (the difference going to She Unites).
