Sometimes It’s The Little Things That Brighten Your Day
Whenever I fuel up my car I always wash my hands. I'm not a germophobe but I always hear my mother in the back of my mind... "you don't know who touched that before you!"
Since the pandemic started it's been pretty common to walk by most of our favorite places to see the 'carryout only' signs, but more recently a lot of spots have still been closed to inside traffic due to short-staffing.
I filled up my ride and shuffled through Kwik Stop on Pennsylvania over the weekend. I paid for my gas and made my way to the restroom to wash my hands. I first noticed the garbage can with the 'lobby closed' sign wasn't in its usual spot... then it hit me!
Holy cow, the lobby is open again!
As you can see the menu board was all lit up and there was even an employee there that said "hello" to me.
I know you're probably thinking it's pretty sad if that's the highlight to my day, but it really makes me happy to see places reopening and life turning back to normal again.
Hey... sometimes it's the little things.
Don't forget all this month we're helping Kwik Stop, Dairy Queen and Fazoli's help the Veteran's Freedom Center. We'll be live at the Kwik Stop BP on 16th Street this Wednesday with more details. If you want to know more how you can help local vets in the Tristates this summer, click HERE.
