We know one thing, Shane Black‘s The Predator will have some serious cuteness. Room star Jacob Tremblay is the latest actor to join the sci-fi reboot according to The Hollywood Reporter, and the cast is only sounding better and better.

Each new casting rumor for The Predator has been some of the most exciting casting news of the year. Earlier this month Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes joined Olivia Munn and Boyd Holbrook, followed by Keegan-Michael Key and The People v. OJ‘s Sterling K. Brown. Which a phenomenal cast like that, I don’t even care what this reboot is about. The aliens as just an added bonus, extra sprinkles on top of awesome casting.

So what will Tremblay do? Use his small stature and adorableness to ward off aliens? Who needs the muscles of Arnold Schwarzenegger to fight aliens when you can get a tiny cute kid? What we do know from THR is Tremblay will play the autistic son of Holbrook’s character, an ex-marine who discovers the existence of aliens despite no one believing him. Tremblay’s character is also described as the victim of bullies who becomes a “key player in the fight due to his preternatural ability to learn languages.” It sounds like Arrival isn’t the only sci-fi movie interested in extraterrestrial linguistic adventures revolving around children.

Rhodes and Key will also play ex-marines, Munn will play a scientist, and Brown is a government official who locks up Holbrook’s ex-soldier before realizing he needs his help. Thomas Jane has also been rumored to join the cast in a mysterious role. The reboot will be directed by Black and co-written by him and Fred Dekker (RoboCop 3, The Monster Squad), and production kicks off in Vancouver next month.
