Multiple Connected Stores in Dubuque's Kennedy Mall Now Closed

A trio of related stores in Dubuque's Kennedy Mall have closed their doors, leaving only one location of their kind left in the city.

The stores are World Earth Minerals, This & That, and World Earth Minerals Superstore, which opened back in January 2024, and offered everything from rocks to furniture and clothing. Per Telegraph Herald and World Earth Minerals' Facebook page, the three stores have now closed, with the only remaining location being the company's shop at 2255 John F. Kennedy Road (Suite 500).

About World Earth Minerals:

Located on the north end of Kennedy Mall, World Earth Minerals sold rocks and minerals of various types, as well as literature and collectibles. Attached to that shop was This & That, which offered new and used items, including but not limited to: toys, tools, antiques, jewelry, furniture, glassware, small kitchen appliances, holiday items, home décor, paintings, coins, records, movies, hunting/fishing accessories, and more.

Having been in both a couple different times, I thought they were both creative "catch-all" kind of shops, with items atypical for a mall. It was always a spot I roamed and from which occasionally purchased.

Furthermore, This & That and World Earth Minerals were locally owned operations, underscoring Kennedy Mall's commitment to bringing an at-home shopping/buying experience to the area.

New Stores Could Be Moving Into Kennedy Mall Soon:

Joe Bell, director of corporate communication for Kennedy Mall and management company, Cafaro Co., told Telegraph Herald that conversations with possible tenants about filling the vacated spaces are already ongoing:
