‘Magical Kwik Stop Christmas’ Begins its 24th Year in Dubuque
The holiday season means a lot of things in the Tri-States, and one of those recurring events that comes around each and every year is "Magical Kwik Stop Christmas" put on by Kwik Stop/Rainbo Oil. This year, the event which brings presents to numerous area-families is celebrating its 24th year.
Magical Kwik Stop Christmas kicks off on Monday, November 10th at all Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen locations in Dubuque and the Tri-State area. Over the last 23 years, the Dubuque community has helped over 390 local families, per a press release from Kwik Stop.

What is "Magical Kwik Stop Christmas?:"
Magical Kwik Stop Christmas seeks to provide 10 gifts for each member of a family. Gifts can range from necessity items like socks, food, and gas, to wish-list items such as bicycles and gift cards. Once again, 25 families will be selected to receive gifts as part of the program, and the gifts are made possible thanks to business partners and Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen customers who generously make donations.
Heather Hamm, who serves as the Kwik Care Community Liaison, and is a great friend of mine as well as the Y105 Morning Show, spoke about how community support has made Magical Kwik Stop Christmas an annual success:
The Kwik Care program has so much community support and we are so appreciative every year as we help put the ‘magic’ in Magical Kwik Stop Christmas for local families. It is with thanks to Dubuque, the tri-states, and our wonderful business partners that we have had continued success with this program for the last 23 years - Heather Hamm of Kwik Stop, per Kwik Stop's press release
How You Can Donate and Help Dubuque Families:
Throughout the month of November, customers at Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen in Dubuque and Peosta can elect to donate to Magical Kwik Stop Christmas. Kwik Care partners with Catholic Charities of Dubuque for the family outreach as well as local area businesses and vendors to help purchase the gifts for those in need. All the selected families' wishes and needs will be on tags on Christmas trees at Kwik Stop and Dairy Queen locations.
The history of Magical Kwik Stop Christmas goes all the way back to 2002, along with the Kwik Care program, which highlights a different local nonprofit organization every month. Since Kwik Care's inception, the community has raised over $2.2 million for local nonprofits. November 2025's Kwik Care recipient of the month is Community Solutions of Eastern Iowa.

Any businesses interested in participating in Magical Kwik Stop Christmas 2025 through family adoption or monetary donation can contact Heather Hamm via email at heatherh@rainboco.com.
